Naturally white and pure beeswax is the main ingredient in Cold Wax Medium. Formulated to a knife-like consistency, it can be used to make oil colors thicker and more matte in appearance. Additionally, it can be employed to make Gamblin mediums and Gamvar more matte. Cold Wax Medium can also be applied alone as a matte varnish.
To achieve a brushable consistency, the Cold Wax Medium can be thinned by dissolving it in Odorless Mineral Spirits (OMS). Alternatively, Galkyd can be added to the Cold Wax Medium to increase its sheen and flexibility.
